In keeping with the cynical world of Helldivers 2, it's not that important to leave the mission aboard the ships. A bonus is given for each evacuated paratrooper, but the main reward for the mission is awarded in any case. This is worth remembering on missions with short timers - you can take your time with tasks and not worry about evacuation.
Despite its apparent simplicity, Helldivers 2 includes a deep tactical layer that is difficult to understand unless you experiment or get advice from someone. But that’s the beauty of it, that the game doesn’t lead you by the hand, but gives you the opportunity to learn in the process.
For example, did you know that explosive weapon variants only deal bonus damage against some enemies? Below are nine tips that Helldivers 2 doesn't reveal, but will help you complete missions more efficiently.
You don't have to survive to be successful.

Electromagnetic shocks are important against Automatons
The first thing you will realize in a mission with Automatons is that they have more armor than ammo in your magazine. It's easy to panic in Helldivers 2 when it seems like there aren't enough weapons and air strikes aren't as effective as they were against the Terminids. Consider an electromagnetic strike (EMS) (or mortar) - the stun zone will paralyze the bots, giving your squad a break, a chance to recharge and hit the bots' weak points. But try not to get caught in the explosion yourself.
Smoke screens have a similar effect - they temporarily blind bots, but at point-blank range they often go further, so this is not 100% reliable. The main advantage of EMS and smoke is fast reloading without the risk of being blown up.
As difficulty increases, ammunition in Helldivers becomes more expensive than gold. The two-minute supply cooldown is especially acute during several waves of Beetles in a row, so it's worth taking a Supply Container with you. It allows you to carry up to 4 boxes of ammunition, effectively doubling your team's supply at any time. The container can be replenished by calling Supply, and after a long time even summon a second container for 4 free boxes of ammo!
Visibility is a big issue on missions with Spore Towers or Jungles. However, not everyone notices how Helldivers 2 represents the time of day. When selecting missions on the ship, a 3D model of the planet is displayed, which can be rotated. If the mission area falls in a dark area, expect night battles.
It is unclear whether the planets rotate in real time relative to the stars in Helldivers 2. Also, some weapons have a flashlight that can be turned on/off while aiming.
