Bridget sighed, staring up at the ceiling. “I’m. SO. BOOOOORED!” she cried out to her sister, who was sitting and reading on the sofa next to her.
Linda sighed and rolled her eyes. “Dear sister, we must get you a hobby, and soon, before you drive me to tears. Or death. Perhaps both.”
Bridget whimpered and knocked the book out of her sister’s hand. “Stop reading that romantic nonsense. Let’s go on an adventure! Life is too short to sit here, on this couch, in this house, reading about places we’ll never go with men we’ll never meet.”
Linda raised an eyebrow and stared at her sister. “Who’s talking romantic nonsense now, hmm?”
Bridget got up with a sigh and started to walk out of the room, when Linda called out to her. “Is this about Mr. Drake?”
Bridget paused in the doorway. Slowly turning back to her sister, she said, “That cad? Absolutely not. I’d rather die than be near that man again.”
