Description
Listen: We aren’t saying that all clowns are evil. Statistically, that’s impossible. However, the shows, movies, and books we consumed as children in the 1980s and 1990s certainly made it seem like all clowns were horrifying monsters, and that might have skewed our worldview so that, as adults, a lot of us are scared of them. Terrified, even. Full-on coulrophobia for some of us. Why? Because it was used as a plotline so often in so much popular culture from when we were growing up, and with almost zero adult supervision, we just watched it because it was on! Or read it in a book, or even just saw a book cover in the library! (You know the one.) No collection about haunting images from our childhood would be complete without mentioning the myriad ways we were constantly told that clowns are evil and creepy. (Sorry, coulrophobes.)
Scent Notes: Incense and camphor, a glass of oatmeal stout, and is that … no … oh no, of course there’s blood, because we are talking about evil clowns, after all.
