What would fall be without that classic Thanksgiving dessert, pumpkin pie? We’ve been taught to go gourd crazy in the fall when they’re super ripe and ready to be picked and turned into dessert, or added to a curry, or carved and left on the front porch as a show of sacrifice to the Old Gods. (Or just to stick a candle in and make the front yard festive, it’s cool.) Pumpkin pie is such a simple yet satisfying treat this time of year. It’s a definitive marker of autumn, and a creamy-slightly-spicy delight we look forward to all year long. Long live the pumpkin king!
