Scent Notes: Late summer peaches and grapefruit fizz and shine against a backdrop of Fall leaves in a rosewood forest.

There’s such beauty to be found in both nature and mathematics. Those might seem like opposite realms, math and nature, but they’re completely intertwined. A lot of beautiful things in nature are fractals: crystals, snowflakes, and clouds, along with tree branches and the circulatory systems of animals. Most people wouldn’t compare a crystal to the complex web of veins and arteries inside of animals, but you would. You’re all about order and symmetry, as you like to keep things orderly. Otherwise, you feel as though you might split into fractions yourself.

Sometimes you do worry about coming apart completely, but for some reason math has always calmed you down. The numbers make sense to your brain, and those numbers, those systems of mathematics, are what create the universe we live in, in all its complex glory. They called you a math wiz in high school, but now you prefer fractal witch. Wiz is just short for wizard, anyway. Why can’t someone be a math witch? Well, they can, and you are living proof. Understanding the order of the universe keeps you maintaining order in your own life. Understanding as much as you can, that is; nobody fully understands the order and power of the universe, and beware all those who claim they do know it all.

Part of your fractionated self is your inability to keep your attention on one thing for an extended period of time. That is, for anything that’s not math or nature-related. Your brain splits in all sorts of directions. You can be in the midst of writing an email and somehow end up watering your plants, playing two games on your phone, looking up the history of cinnamon rolls, starting laundry, and cooking dinner before you remember to finish and send the email. But you’re learning how to work with your fractal mind, finally, instead of cursing it and blaming it for all of your problems. It’s a gift, your own form of magic that only you can create, this combination of your intense interest in understanding and crafting your own patterns in the universe.
