Rose sighed, and shielded her eyes to the bright morning sun by making a visor out of her hand. She gazed at the horizon in the distance. She was standing on the edge of the dock, watching Misty and her crew sail away on Misty’s latest vessel, The Gaysha. She knew Misty was likely watching her fade into the distance, and while Rose knew this was for the best, it still hurt her heart a little to know this was probably the last time she would see Misty, at least for a few years.

Her own crew was onboard the Booty Snatcher, preparing for her word that it was time to leave. Rose still had no idea where they were going to go. Her heart was clouded from the last few weeks of pure pleasure and alcohol and sandy beaches; it’s possible a very-delayed hangover was also setting in.

But her mind knew, as tough as it was to see her go, that this was for the best. They’d enjoyed each other as much as they could; they’d gained riches and thwarted her evil ex; she’d picked a lot of sand out of a lot of places where sand just should not go. And now it was time to move on to new adventures. But, where?

“Ay, Captain Rose!” one of her crew shouted down to her. “Where we be headin’?”

Rose closed her eyes and bent her right arm up, her compass tattoo displaying itself prominently. Still with her eyes closed, she moved the fingers of her left hand in alternating circles, until they finally landed on a direction. Rose opened her eyes, looked down, and smiled.

“We’re heading out west, like all good pirates! Let us seek that flighty temptress, adventure.”

Scent notes: a gourmand swirl of honeyed chocolate with a smokey undertone of palo santo. Sandalwood, black musk, coumarin and a drop of camphor create a mysterious, dark undercurrent
