A dark forest at night. Moss and cypress, blood and warm fur. A whisper of gunsmoke, and a drop of sweet resins.
We are honored to have partnered with our friends at the podcast Old Gods of Appalachiato create this official fragrance. It is presented in a 1oz bottle with laser etching.
Family, won’t you come with us into the deep woods? Where cypress trees and oak moss twist and grow. In the pines, where the trees whisper to you, “Join us.” Where late some nights, you can feel warm fur around you and smell gunsmoke — and maybe just a drop of fresh blood — and hear the voice of something ancient beckoning you into the night?

I was incredibly happy with this one. I was very worried I wasn't gonna like it based off of the scent description. But that was not the case. Previously, my favorite scent was Do no harm.Take no shit. Which is usually the type of scent i like, the deeper sweet, fruity kind of stuff I guess. This one's my new favorite.
This has got to be my favorite scent of all time. Sweet but not too sweet, I will be buying again, and I highly recommend it for Old Gods' fans as well as those who just enjoy smelling good.
I’m honestly not completely sure what my personal opinion of blood & bone fully is. It’s definitely *not* a bad smell. It’s *almost* nostalgic but not quite? It definitely has a bit of a metallic twinge in this scent and is say it almost has a hint of baby powdery-ness to its smell…I don’t hate it, but I’m not sure if I like it either?
Got both this and Unknown Roads together, and this scent definitely evokes imagery that would make the podcast proud! Smells a lot like leather and old furs, and I really enjoy the way it immediately makes me think of werewolves and old beasts in the woods...
As a huge OGoA fan, but also a huge TMA fan, I battled something furious to pick which scent was gonna be my birthday gift this year. But! As a first time buyer as of this year, I will ABSOLUTELY be coming back once I get low.
Blood and bone is a beautifully complex scent, and isn't overly "feminine" smelling in the traditional sense (but gendered smells are foolish imo lol). I appreciate it for being a musky, woodsy smell with a touch of powder on me. I was impatient and did try it right when I got it (even though it says to rest the perfume, I was just excited.) and it was much more powdery then. But since letting it rest for a few weeks, it's scent has matured and become extremely well balanced. I will absolutely be coming back for blood and bone! (Plus, can we get three big booms for the freebies?! Holy cow! I got four free tester vials when I bought blood and bone (I did get the biggest size, mostly because I wanted the bottle) and so far I love every single one. Thank you sucreabeille for fulfilling the scent gap that my heart has always longed for and could never find. The confidence boost from smelling like a slightly damp creature in a nighttime pine forest is amazing! <3
Got this as a gift for the holidays and it is such an intriguing fragrance. Deep smoky notes. The very top notes almost come off like a sharp black cherry to me in passing. But mostly organic, animalic muskiness is what I get from this. This scent strongly elicits goth imagery/goth fashion, (but I’m far from goth and still love wearing it).
Blood and Bone is an endlessly fascinating fragrance. It feels to me like a scent I should not like at all, but I in fact adore it. There's something almost 'forbidden' or taboo in the way I instinctively respond to it, and I can't quite articulate fully why that is. This scent has an almost antiseptic or 'hospital' quality, but it's somehow wedded brilliantly, in a highly unlikely marriage, with incense resins, the raw earthiness of decaying bone, wet hair, blood, and, somewhere buried in there, a dark, ripe fruit. At moments it reminds me of some of the tattoo shops I've gotten work done in: a visceral mixture of human blood, antiseptic solution, metal, paper, skin oils, and incense. But then in a flash it will transport me into a darker, more ancient and much more mysterious realm of olfactory imagination. This is by far my favorite fragrance from this perfumery. It definitely benefits from aging. Of course, there's the recommended two week maceration period, but I recommend having a bottle (even if it's just a sample size) that you keep back for six months or a year. If you do that, you will discover that the scent profile becomes darker and richer, with more woodiness coming through (perhaps this is the cypress note maturing), and what registers for me as a hint of juniper berry. It just gets more and more luscious with time. This is a totally unisex scent—there is really nothing either masculine or feminine about it: somehow it transcends those categories. In fact, I would venture to say that this fragrance defies *all* categories. It confounds, repels, and powerfully entices me all at once. Bravo. I will continue buying this and being puzzled and delighted by it for as long as it's around—and I hope that's a long time.
I really wanted to like this one but it was way too sweet on my skin. I was really hoping for more of the warm fur to come out but it didn't really stick around.
The smell is strange. It’s on the cusp of something sweet taking a turn for the strange. If it’s your cup of tea enjoy, personally not my favorite and it’s why it’s still half full
Absolutely amazing I absolutely love the scent. I got it as a Christmas gift for my fiancé and he’s going to be so excited as he’s been wanting to try this scent. It was also a wonderful surprise that they added two tester scents as a little gift. I will for sure be purchasing more in the future!
This scent came recommended from a friend as their absolute favourite and I can see why, though it took some time to grow on me. The gunsmoke and sweet resin reach me more than the other notes. It's become my day to day wear, and the notes for me are very calming.
It smelled like blood & mosquito repellent at first, but luckily I applied it on a warm day so it would mix with my chemistry quickly. It smells like spruce and cedar ashes with a hint of hot blood in there. I feel like I'm wearing something that will intimidate weak men...and I like it.
This took me a couple of tries. I tried it several times, over a long period of time. I finally warmed up to it. This smells like something that I would wear to a formal event.
This is hands down my favorite perfume, I mix it with others, I wear it by itself, it's not overpowering. It mixes with my scent in a way that feels like it's part of me. This fits my vibe so well, so this picture is how I feel when I wear this.
If gothic rurality had a scent, it would be this - rich with folklore and warnings - luring you in with a false sense of security. 11/10 would wear every day.
I really, really wanted to love this perfume oil. The description of it sounded like exactly what I desired. However, upon arrival, I was sorely disappointed by the actual scent. Something like little old ladies and, weirdly, hotel bathrooms? Nothing of forest, fur, or blood. Instead, cheap powdery perfume, and vinylesque soap. No thank you. I even tried tucking the perfume away to "settle" (I've never heard of this, but okay?) It smelled exactly the same. Very disappointed.
Every cent that I ordered was absolutely perfect and the freebies matched those as well. Love ordering from you guys. Will order again and again and again.
I agree with what I've seen in some other reviews, it smells terrible at first. But if you wait the two weeks like suggested, it smells so good. It's very unique and people are always surprised when they smell it, and then even more surprised when they like it 😂
This scent is so unique! I had a unique upbringing and was raised by my grandparents and spent a lot of time at their taxidermy. There is a layer in this scent under the beautiful sweet smell that literally reminds me of the smell of ground up bones. It made me love it even more because it reminds me of my childhood, and is a nostalgic smell for me. Funny how the smell of bones can become nostalgic 😂 but I loved ALL of the scents I received. 10/10 all the way around.
I'm in love! Reading the scent profile you're like "oh it's weird" but it is anything but. As my mom said it's my signature scent. It's me. It's earthy, smokey, down to earth. It's warm and inviting. It's different but in such a good way. I could live in this perfume. And I do!
I took your advice and put it in a cool, dark place for a while, and when I spray it on and rub my wrist together, it’s like magic! I don’t think I could love I said more but I am going to be ordering very soon to try all your good witchy scents❤️
This is by far the best scent that I have purchased from the brand, and it came with a free gift of the pecan pie scent which works so well with this one and also smells amazing. I will be buying a larger bottle of this and I am just completely in love.
Just a broke witchy lady, I was scared to commit to a full bottle so I got this little guy, wasn't sure about it at first but after it dried down.... oh man I can't wait to try old gods, also I did this with the smallest dot of pecan pie and it just brought something deeper out of this. Amazing.
Finally gave in after hearing the ad on Old Gods of Appalachia and I’m so glad I did! The scents are delightful, the stories are mesmerizing, and the FB group is a hoot! It’s lovely to smell the scents develop while they rest. Can’t want to order more!
This was shipped as a surprise gift for being an Old Gods patron on Patreon (so I didn’t deal with shipping through Suc). A bit more powdery than I would normally go, but also spicy and ages sooo nicely on my skin; I love that it’s embedded in all my scarves now! An everyday wear, and gorgeous on my nightstand.
I am still on the fence about this one. It smelled awful the first day, but after sitting for the recommended two weeks, it smells pretty good now. I suck at describing scents, but it is slightly musky and very vaguely reminds me of cola. It smells great in the bottle, but when I put it on, it smelled exactly like baby powder. After an hour, my body chemistry changed it to smell like it does in the bottle, but that hour of baby powder is rough. I’m going to keep trying it until my 1 oz is gone and see if I can make up my mind.
My literal favorite smell ever. Super unique scent--makes me feel very in the spirit of autumn and spooky season. I also was sent a couple of small sample perfumes for free with my order which is a huge plus
Super strong in the bottle and made me nervous but on the skin its a wonderfully powdery smell with a hint of something unplaceable. Good scent for someone looking to stand out.
Not that it’s all that important but I feel like men would like to know that this scent is nice for men. After opening I tried some on my wrists and neck and got a “wow you smell good” from my buddies when we met up for plans.
I think it smells lovely, not super sure if I’m getting notes of blood or bones on it.. but I like it. It reminds me of the smell of the room my grandmother used to do her floral arrangements in, in her house built in the 1800s. It has an aged musty smell mixed with fresh cut flowers. I got the 10mL roller and based on how slow it’s emptying I’m sure this is gonna last me a while.
Quick shipping (not quite as fast as BP but stupid quick)
Smells like cryptid. I'm not kidding, if you're looking for cryptid smell this is it. Haven't tried unknown roads yet but defo getting that one next time I can afford it.
Send a second tester of How Luscious is the Night and holy fuck that smells like Chocolate bourbon.
Also the packaging was so cool! I loved the scent card and the little baggie. Plus the bonus sticker made me grin
