If the crunch underfoot and the frost in your nose are off-putting and the way the wood cracks as it burns has you jumping, best you stay home. Tolerance though, fierce acceptance, and even perhaps a bit of preparedness, will earn you a place so breathtakingly profound that it begs why you ever tried to be anywhere else. It can be the best place, for those who can handle the prickle.
