I didn't really know what vetiver was, I bought the sample because my sign is Aquarius and I thought it would be fun to try the perfume. It's outdoorsy and fresh and at least on on first scent I love it.

Aquarius is a wonderfully aquatic scent—classically “clean,” but grounded and balanced because of the Vetiver. Aquarius also has the most staying power of the scents I’ve tried so far!

Aquarius

I was surprised I liked this fragrance as much as I do. While Libra (air) and Taurus (earth) are important signs for me, my favorite of the Astrology scents have been Aquarius (water) and Leo (fire). It shouldn't surprise me that I like Aquarius since it includes vetiver and earthy notes. The aquatic and sweetgrass notes really lighten up the overall fragrance. It's not too sweet, not too aquatic, not too earthy....just right!

The TL; DR is that Aquarius is by far the best interpretation of vetiver I’ve ever experienced, and I’m so glad I tried it. I like vetiver, but as a personal fragrance ingredient it typically winds up in heady blends that are too sweet and cloying on me. Enter Aquarius, which is a totally unique take on vetiver. It’s definitely the anchor ingredient in this fragrance, but with fresh, crisp aquatic notes that (thankfully!) stop short of the sharpness I perceive in most so-called “fresh” scents, and without making it smell like a man’s deodorant or after shave. It’s a wonderfully clean smelling unisex fragrance that I find myself reaching for when I want a shot of mood-boosting freshness during the oppressive heat of summer. To my nose it’s a daytime, office-friendly fragrance that won’t hit anyone over the head, but instead will have people asking what intriguingly lovely scent you’re wearing. The bonus is that Aquarius holds its character on my skin (fortunately entirely unlike another reviewer’s experience with the dry down), staying true to itself for well over 4 hours. This made it a slam dunk for me. I got Aquarius first as a free sample that came with an order l placed during a sale. It didn’t take long for me to turn around and order the rollerball, which is currently the largest size it’s available in.

First one I tried and as a perfume, I don’t like it. It smells EXACTLY like the head shop I “grew up” with… the hippie shop was called “Beautiful Day” and the smell reminds me of walking in to a comfortable spot from my high school/college days. Would be a good incense.

Got this for my husband. He used to wear a phenomenal vetiver scent from an Indy perfumery that’s been discontinued and we’ve not been able to find a replacement. This ticked most boxes and when we got it, let it rest -and the vetiver came out crazy strong-but on the dry down i love the smell, it’s very similar and he can’t get enough so I’m ordering the large size!

Aquarius has an EXCELLENT first sniff - the top notes are clean and crisp and wet and unisex in a way a lot of perfumes struggle with. this isn't too sweet or spicy. it's not floral and it isn't musky. it's the sort of smell that makes someone lean in and ask "what ARE you wearing??" i wish i could keep ONLY that first bit. the first 30 to 40 minutes are divine. afterward, as it dries down, it starts to smell a bit like old cabbage/wet trashcan. ymmv, of course, but i have set this scent in my "no thank you" pile
