Black Amber is like if regular amber could somehow be MORE GOTH. MORE SCIENCE. MORE EVERYTHING.

If you are a big fan of that movie where they put dinos in a theme park and everything goes totally sideways, and then in every sequel somehow things get worse and greedy people pay the ultimate price via a terrifying lizard chomping them, you'll know that amber comes from tree sap that undergoes polymerization and SOMETIMES you get a little buggy guy in there, or like a leaf or some moss... it's really cool. I could nerd out forever. Well, Black Amber is not similar at all. The wood itself undergoes carbonization when buried in sediment. Under immense pressure and heat, all of the volatile compounds get pushed out, and it turns black like coal. It then lithifies and BOOM! You've got a wicked cool goth rock. It's also called Jet.
