Scent Notes: Cool rain on the fierce ocean. Petrichor, sour limes, and sweet oranges.
You throw a rock into the sea, and let out a harrowing scream. A couple walking down the beach towards you does an obvious, abrupt stop. The woman almost falls on her face, slipping on some unseen seaweed. They make a hasty turnaround and nearly sprint back the way they came. You don't even notice. You’ve spent most of the day here, throwing rocks. Screaming. Your hair in massive tangles, makeup smeared and running down your face. You’re done. It’s all too much. You're tired of the expectations placed on women and what advertising and makeup companies tell you about how you should be, and look.... Click here to read the rest of the story!
I received Sea Hag as sample and like it- the limes bring some brightness to the ‘ocean’ quality of the scent, making a refreshing and long lasting perfume. Four stars just because not necessarily something I’d buy but perfect for the right person!
Lime and orange give way to a marine accord with a hint of driftwood/witch hazel in the dry down. This is a clean, pleasantly astringent scent for hot weather wear.
Don’t be mislead by my giving “only” 4 stars to Sea Hag. I love this fragrance, but I love its first cousin Greyjoy even more, and am reserving my 5 star review for Greyjoy sheerly out of respect. 🫡 😁
I don’t have much to add to the already glowing Sea Hag reviews and their comments about the lovely citrusy, ocean-inspired freshness of this scent. I also find it remarkable how long-lived both Sea Hag and Greyjoy are on my skin, given how most scents with these light, fresh, citrusy profiles tend to be extremely ephemeral.
After my heart was broken when Greyjoy was discontinued just after I discovered it 😭 and could only order it in the rollerball size, I decided to order Sea Hag in a bigger size (after sampling the 1 mL vial) as a stopgap means of tiding me over until Greyjoy hopefully becomes available again. 🙏
The main difference I perceive between the two scents is that Sea Hag is somewhat sweeter and murkier in comparison, whereas Greyjoy’s petrichor note is more prominent and the lime notes are a bit less sweet than the orange notes in Sea Hag. The EDP’s of both are equally long-lasting with a nice sillage that makes them present but not overpowering. Sea Hag is a beautiful scent; I just prefer the slightly less sweet, more petrichor-forward character of Greyjoy that makes it more dark, complex, and intriguing.
I had high hopes for this one because the smell of rain in yhe summer is one of my favorite things. This smells more like Irish Springs bar soap. It's not offensive, but not what I want to smell like all day.
This my favorite scent so far. Super fresh and clean, like you're at a high end spa and just stepped out of a fragrant soaking tub into a freshly laundered luxurious towel. Lasted ALL DAY. I ordered a 1ml sample of EDP and will be ordering a full size bottle. LOVE THIS!
The SMELL of this is amazing. I love right next to the ocean and this scent reminds me of the freshness of the Atlantic. It's a very clean scent, a bit citrus, and to me, a hint of celery... which is very pleasant! I love the scent. It doesn't have much throw and it seems to fade after a couple of hours. That's the only reason this beautiful scent wasn't given a 5 star review from me.
I keep coming back to you guys for my smell goods. Even when some of them dont hit the mark you guys do amazing work and im always happy with the products i order.
This smells like spicy soap to me and I like it. It smells like bar soap but it's a little herby kick at the end. Not something I'd buy if it was described to me that way but, it works surprisingly well.
Redhead* Review: In the bottle, Sea Hag smells like a blast of clean, un-sugary citrus. Very fresh and light. It dried down quickly on me, but left a subtle veil of petrichor/fresh air against the skin. It's perfect for smelling clean at work, in crowds, and on an airplane. Beautifully fresh.
*Redhead = she who throws off scent
Love this one so much! You get lime, right away, then this cool salty ocean scent takes over. It smells like what I imagine Cape Cod smells like, after a storm, mixed with a super lime-y cocktail. Good stuff.
Sea Hag is my scent! So glad it's back in the shop. It's nice to not ration smelling like myself. Curious Marginalia is a close runner up though. I may have to split them summer/winter.
I tried this on a whim and am so thrilled to report that it smells like a lemon-lime Mr. Misty from a 1991 Dairy Queen. With a dash of salt. I did not know until I received this sample vial that this is all I have ever wanted to smell like! Will definitely be ordering more. :)
I say this in the very best way possible: to me this smells like a beach house rental. The sea hag is the old woman who owns the property and you know has been on the island her whole life but you don't know how long that is or how much longer it'll be. It's a bowl of sea glass and faded turquoise blue bath mats. It's the faded cherished memory of summers past. I'm in love.
I bought Sea Hag as a sample and immediately had to get the 10ml perfume oil. This fragrance is my go-to for a day when I wear a fragrance, which admittedly isn't super often.
I love the clean, refreshing scent, and it isn't overpowering for someone who doesn't wear scent all the time and also is somewhat sensitive when I do.
I really like Sea Hag. This was my first time trying it, because my old go-to Sirens Song wasn't available, and they sounded like they were in the same general vein. The scent is bright and refreshing and it's become my daily wear!
Sea Hag and Tempest were my go to fragrances. Worn together, my heart was happy. They complimented each other so perfectly. Then, Tempest went away. My heart grew dark. Now? Sea Hag is a thing of the past. I know it doesn't matter, but you've definitely lost a customer.
I'm sure there will be many others to take my place. Especially, with all of the advertising I've been seeing.
💔
I have loved about 90% of what I've purchased. The only problem I have is that the scents are not lasting. I switched to oil to see if that made the fragrance last longer. Still not sure. Stay Sexy is my "go to". Love the fragrance! I keep a rollerball so I can reapply.
Loved Air Witch, and Lonicera for Spring/Summer. Beekeeper's daughter is my Winter go to.
Thank you for your creative noses!!!
Smells like an entire grove of fresh, sour limes. Overhead, the sky is gray and the wind picks up, but not ominously. The rain that comes is refreshing and the accompanying thunder and lightning is distant, over the sea. In my opinion Greyjoy does the same thing but better.
I got a 10ml rollerball of Sea Hag and Byzantine and these are two of my favorite scents. sea hag is very fresh and light. it reminds me of the smell of my grandma's beach :) byzantine is great when I want to go for a bit more of a masculine scent. ALSO I MISS KITCHEN WITCH SO MUCH!!! I would do anything to get my hands on some again lol
This smells like other ocean scented items I've come across before. It's not unpleasant. But like a summer storm it comes on strong and leaves just as quickly.
I love this scent and almost every other scent I got. Some didn't seem the best until after they set for a bit and some got better. Absolutely buying again
The expensive samples were so small. 10,50 or 11 usd, but smaller than small. Like a mini tweny tiny. We'd order 4 different Fragrances. They didn't smell bad, except one smelled like masked B.O, but they definitely didn't last either. I wouldn't not buy again. Not to mention the price is barely cheaper than name brand perfumed. Oh, we did get a couple of free samples two or three times the bought samples sizes for free. So I bought teeny tiny and got bigger free samples. Nice gesture, but why not sell bigger samples and give tiny samples? Anyway, it didn't last and wasn't very strong so all that was the deal breaker for me. Sorry, I'm a nope!
I bought a vial of Sea Hag because someone on the internet said Swashbuckler (which I discovered is my new favorite fragrance) smelled a lot like it. They do have some citrus top notes in common, but this one goes on much sweeter.
The petrichor takes over for me as it dries down, making it a nice rainy day vibe (but absolutely not a Swashbuckler replacement).
I ordered a lot of stuff. The only scent that didn't go "powdery" on me was Sea Hag. When I first put it on, I could smell the ocean air. It dried down to the cleanest, loveliest fragrance.
When I contacted customer service to make the return and get a refund, I completely expected to get treated terribly. Au contraire. I was so pleasantly surprised. After their mandatory 2 week waiting period, I was sent a return label. I will be sending the package back tomorrow and don't anticipate any hiccups.
Right out of the bottle, the top notes are limes and alcohol, sort of like a gin and tonic. Once it dries on the skin, it's a gentle floral/rain scent with very little citrus. Sea Hag is not at all overpowering as I had suspected, and after 2 hours, it has a nice lingering "petrichor" floral smell that is subtle and agreeable. I was skeptical about this one but it is very nice!
