Spite Cake

Does your family have a tradition of passing around fruitcake even though nobody eats it, or are you normal? If, somehow, everyone in your family ends up with a dreaded fruitcake that they don’t eat and they don’t even know where it came from, perhaps consider renaming it: Spite Cake. Nobody knows who made it, how it got there, or even how old it is, but every year, if you’re guaranteed to see at least one in your house, we wish you a very merry Spite Cake season.
