Aurora Obscura

Scent Notes: Vanilla, ylang ylang, indian sandalwood and cedarwood.

This was Day 3 in our Yule Advent Calendar.

Okay hear me out. We sell all of our belongings, house, car, furniture, etc. We get a camera obscura. We quickly learn how to use it. We pack a bunch of snacks and mittens and those little hand warmer things that you shake really hard but nothing happens, and then when they are sitting in your socks at some point they get hot AF and you have to take them out and just leave them in your pockets. Maybe some hot cocoa and a tiny stove. And a tent. Stay with me. Put ALL THAT into a backpack and fly to the Arctic. We walk out on the ice for one full day. Set the tent. Take a wee nap. Wake up. Peak outside of the tent to see if the aurora borealis is out.

OMG IT IS!! IT'S OUT AND IT IS MAGNIFICENT!! AREN'T YOU GLAD YOU CAME ALL THIS WAY?? Set up the camera obscura pointed right at the aurora borealis. Make a cup of hot cocoa. Wait for the image to take. Enjoy the night, sipping and staring. Pack up in the morning because it is cold AF out here, and fly home. Sleep on a friend's couch because we sold our house at the beginning of the story for some reason. Develop our picture. Realize that the camera obscura only works if you hold very still, and the aurora borealis was moving kind of a lot...

I know, I know, it's the perfect plan.
