Potion is Elixir’s older, edgier sister. She’s the bad witch, the one who wears all black, puts her eyeliner on thick, lights her house almost exclusively with candles, dresses as Stevie Nicks for every Halloween, and would rather drink whiskey than any herbal tea blend her sister crafts (no offense, Elixir). She’s a wizard with herbs, however, and brews incredible tinctures and poultices for every type of ailment. She’s always late but nobody ever says anything because they’re afraid of her and reliant on her quick wit and incredible knowledge of seemingly everything. Her library is vast, and she’s never without a book or magazine.
Scent Notes: Expensive vanilla, cedarwood, old books, lemon balm, juicy juniper berry, fresh rosemary, sweet basil, balsam peru, bergamot.
Picture an herb garden in the spring, soon after a light rain. You dry off your favorite chair and settle in with one of your favorite books, one that you’ve had for ages and have read so much that it’s falling apart. That is what Potion smells like.
I’m usually a gourmand girl. Herbal perfumes never sounded good to me. Potion changed that.
Potion has lovely sillage and good lasting power. It was on my arms as a skin scent a full day after I applied it. To me, this seems like a spring fragrance, but that won’t stop me from wearing it anytime I would like. Which will be often, because a larger size is in my cart right now.
Well done, Suc!
I usually live bergamot but this one was not my favorite. It smelled very Herby and with the juniper it was giving him vibes which can be hit or miss depending on the bend with me. I almost wanted less vanilla more gin? But it all smells generally great. I've just smelt so many things with all the free samples I got that I'm starting to be really picky.
Very fresh, bright, green kind of scent. I would describe it as kind of like fresh ginger, with lemon zest and a bite-y scent like cedar with it, and in the background is a bit of a chamomile oil smelling undertone, almost like fresh hay and cucumbers
I like Potion a lot, but to me it smells mostly of cucumbers. That’s not a bad thing. It’s just not quite what I expected. I wear it when I want a fresh herby scent.
This one was not for me. It comes off on me as incredibly powdery, in an old lady kinda way. It actually reminds me a lot of the smell of Coty Airspun cosmetic setting powder. It gets stars for staying power, I could smell it on me all day. Which, in this case, not the best thing. Such is the risk of buying online, bound to find a few that just are not a scent match. But Suc has plenty of other scents for me to explore!
I ordered 4 samples (buying scents online makes me nervous. What if they don't work out?) And Potion has been my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE so far. I would describe it as a grown up Cucumber melon (with a bit of ginger) in the bottle, but on my skin. Oh. My. STARS it smells amazing. I can't even describe it, but I will definitely be buying more! I haven't been able to try the other scents, but I'm hopeful! I would definitely recommend getting samples first just to make sure the scent works for you.
It starts off very lemony w/ a little woodsy base, on me it dries down to a faint vanilla skin scent. I think my skin tends to eat up perfume pretty fast because it was almost gone within an hour on me. But it's very bright but not headache-inducing re: strong lemon scent
I love this!! It has a delicate, green and heavily citrus scent to it. As it wears, it evolves to a sweet, clean lemon note. Very beautiful and almost sparkling.
